It’s been a couple of weeks since our last good news roundup, so let’s take a look at those stories that inevitably get buried, even though they should be amplified! As always, you’ll see a combination of great news for the left and accountability being forced on the right (or even me just finding some laughter in their misfortune.)
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has requested a special grand jury to aid in her investigation of former President Donald Trump and his efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.
It’s official. President Biden named more appellate court judges his first year in office than any President. (13)
LOL. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) promised in November that he would run for attorney general in Texas if he could raise $1 million in 10 days. He’s running, but according to his latest finance report, he only raised $27,000.
The Supreme Court rejected Trump’s bid to block his administration’s records from being handed to the Jan. 6 House committee.
Emily’s List and NARAL (among other organizations) announced they would not support candidates who are not in favor of eliminating the filibuster for voting rights.
The Justice Department charged Stewart Rhodes, a leader with the Oath Keepers, and 10 other defendants with seditious conspiracy related to the attack on January 6. This was the first time this charge has been used in relation to the attack.
The Smartmatic voting machine company filed a defamation lawsuit against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, alleging he concocted lies about a rigged presidential election to sell his products.
The January 6 House committee has subpoenaed and obtained records of phone numbers associated with one of former President Donald Trump’s children, Eric Trump, as well as Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is engaged to Donald Trump Jr.
LOL. Steve Bannon declared war on Fox News this week over the conservative cable behemoth’s lack of live coverage of Donald Trump’s unhinged Saturday evening rally in Arizona. Cry more, Steve.
Puerto Rico received approval from a federal judge on Tuesday to leave bankruptcy under the largest public sector debt restructuring deal in the history of the United States.
Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R) wants his state to become the latest to conduct all elections entirely by mail, a move he says would expand voter access and turnout at a time when many Republican-led states are debating restrictions on absentee ballots.

Being a Texan, I took particular delight in the Louie Gohmert story, but it’s all good stuff.
Tokyo, good news from Georgia, especially when the publicized evidence shows some level of guilt. As for Gohmert, when I hear is name, law, order, and truthfulness are not top of mind words to define him. As for Bannon’s fuming, even Trump supporters are growing tired of Trump’s “it was stolen from me” schtick. Here is a suggestion from this former Republican and Independent voter to the former president, ” You have failed miserably to prove your election fraud claims in court and with audits, recounts and reviews. Man-up, you lost.” Keith

Happy to see a Republican governor get smart about mail in ballots. We love it here in Oregon! Been doing it this way for 20 years.
In my book, everyone should have the option of postal voting. Voting shouldn’t be so difficult that people finally throw their hands up and say, “Forget it!”
I’m lucky in that I live in an all-mail state, and can confirm it’s easy and awesome. Our turnout is also higher than the average.
It should be that simple for everyone!
