Do you know how many young people have turned 18 since the last presidential election?
8 million.
There’s a really good chance you know at least one of them. So your challenge, should you accept it, is to reach out to the young people in your life and ask them if they’re registered to vote.
It’s the PERFECT time to do it. We’re 7 weeks out from the election, plus, this Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day!
I read the most amazing research this past weekend about how important those first few elections are to build the lifelong habit of voting. Essentially, if a young person votes in their first 3 elections, they’ll very likely be a regular voter for life. You, yes you, could be the reason a new voter becomes a lifelong voter!
I’ve made it super easy for you to help them. You can send them THIS LINK and have them follow just a couple of prompts, or better yet, sit with them and go through the prompts together. I’m sure you’re already registered, but you should go through them as well — first, to see how the voter registration tool works, but second, to confirm that you are indeed still registered under the correct name and the correct address.
If we each do our part, we can make sure all 8 million young people are registered in time for the November midterms! Which young person in your life could you reach out to?
