I found a bunch of good news this week related to elections and voting, which was interesting. Not entirely sure why that happened, but I’ll take it!
The Texas Court of Appeals has asked a lower court to reconsider Crystal Mason’s conviction for illegal voting, opening the door for her conviction to be overturned. She had received a 5 prison sentence for casting a provisional ballot in the 2016 election while she was on supervised release for a federal conviction. Source
Democrats launched a $15 million voter organizing effort in Florida.
For the second year in a row, a judge has ruled that GOP Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters (an election denier) is barred from overseeing an election — this time, the June primaries and November general election.
A Florida district court has ruled that Florida’s newly-drawn congressional districts drawn by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) violate the state constitution. DeSantis was trying to eliminate more Black districts.
On Tuesday, Republican voters in Nebraska rejected Charlie Herbster, a candidate for governor accused of sexually assaulting multiple women and endorsed by Trump.
The House of Representatives voted and will now officially allow congressional staffers to unionize.

Awesome post! Please post more good news. I am SO sick of bad news, conspiracy theories (I’m open very minded, so… hmm), negative stuff, fake news, blah blah blah. Seriously. We all just need to be human and find a way to make this thing (Planet Earth) work for everyone. Is it really THAT complicated? Lol. Well…. some people are working awfully hard to make it seem that way, aren’t they?
I swear I need to go live in a forest for a year. I suspect there is something deeply disturbing happening to the American psyche, which includes my psyche, because of the internet/social media. I wasn’t even a big user until I got a tablet. Then I found YouTube. Plus I love researching. Me + tablet = info junkie. Can’t get enough knowledge. Well, when it’s all bad, fear, terrorize the public, pandemic, you gonna die 24/7 (really? LMAO!) it’s exhausting. I L’ed MAO cuz this whole pandemic thing has been blown out of proportion to the point of absurdity. It’s exhausting, even though I know the pandemic isn’t a pandemic cuz the world is SO weird now, I can’t tell up from down. Not sure if anyone else is having this experience.

Thank you for the comment, Elle. Staying informed without going down a rabbit hole is the skill every needs. I will keep posting good news, but if I could make a suggestion, I’d recommend getting involved in a voter turnout/outreach effort. Taking action to help create the change you want to see in the country can go a long way is soothing your soul.
