What better way to protect our democracy than to encourage folks to participate in it? (Well, that and expanding voting rights, of course.) One of the ways we can do that is by sharing the information about elections that are happening year-round!
Turnout drops by A LOT in what is called “off-cycle” elections, and historically, Democratic turnout falls quite a bit more than Republican turnout. At a time when Republicans everywhere are embracing the most radical beliefs and voter suppression tactics, we can’t afford to not fight hard for every position in government.
When I publish these monthly calendars, I encourage you to take at least one action to help build awareness of these elections. I have a few suggestions as to how to do this below. Thank you for taking action!
