Ready to Hear Some Good News?

Last week, I experimented with a new type of post — a good news only post — and I got an encouraging response, so I’m going to do another one.

I could write this weekly, or maybe every other week, but I’m curious what you all would like. Let me know by leaving a comment!

And now, without further ado, here are some of the good news items I’ve seen from this past week:

Last night, Congress approved a measure to avert a government shutdown

The Senate confirmed Judge Florence Pan — she is the first Asian American woman to fill a seat on the D.C. federal court

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s signature on Assembly Bill 37 makes California the eighth state in the nation to require that every voter to be mailed a ballot for future elections

Fox News banned Rudy Giuliani

A Missouri judge rejected the state attorney general’s effort to block school mask mandates statewide

Trump has lost an effort to enforce a nondisclosure agreement against Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former White House aide

Pennsylvania ended prison gerrymandering

Public health researchers are modeling that 47 states are now (or soon to be) recovering from COVID infections

Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama officially broke ground on their Obama Presidential Center in Chicago

Have a good weekend!!

  1. If you can actually find enough good news to share every week, that would be great! It’s a good pick-me-up.

  2. There’s just enough good news each week to keep me going. Probably shouldn’t add that Kavanaugh might have covid. That wouldn’t be nice….

  3. Yes, yes! We need more and more of this in these dark times!!

  4. I appreciate the Good News. It’s a relief just to scan a list of it. And even to see a cool photo at top, like the one up here. We all read, read, read and study and fight despair in all the ways (action, solidarity, etc) and it’s just nice to see the good news here. So if you can spare the energy to round up the newsy bits, please keep it up! 🙂

  5. TokyoSand, good news all around. Also, under testimony, banned Rudy said he got the election fraud ideas from social media, which he admitted he did not check. And, he wonders why he is in court? Keith

  6. Thank you! It is so good to read Some Good News and I love the idea that you are planning on reporting on Good News weekly. I truly appreciate all your efforts, keep up the good work!

  7. Thank you, this is great and very welcome. The news media seem to have gone to the dark side and only print what will feed the cult members. That’s a question I’d like answered…Why and who do we write to at the networks to complain?
