Who Says There’s Good News in Politics? I Do!

I’ve been experimenting with the type of political content I share on TikTok, both to see what I enjoy creating and also what resonates with people.

Well, I’ve been making good news posts on Fridays that check both of those boxes — I love making them, and every week I get a ton of comments from folks who let me know how grateful they are to see good news for once.

It is true that our media, and especially our political media, is hyper focused on bad news, the scandals, the news that just makes you mad or fearful. But especially with the onset of the Biden-Harris administration, there really has been good news every week.

I know not everyone is on TikTok, and that’s fine. But it occurred to me that my loyal readers here at Political Charge might appreciate hearing some good news, too. And by good news, I mean good things that are happening thanks to the Democrats being in charge but also Republicans facing consequences.

So without further ado, here are some of the good news items I’ve seen from this past week:

An early copy of the Cyber Ninjas report (they “audited” the Maricopa County, AZ election results) says that … Trump lost to Biden

A Fox News poll found a vast majority of Americans 67%) support mandatory mask-wearing for students and teachers in schools, and 66% also saying businesses should require face coverings

The pro-insurrectionist rally in DC on September 18 was a bust

A Covid vaccine for kids aged 5-12 could be available by Halloween

The NYTimes published a memo proving the Trump campaign knew the Big Lie they were pushing, was indeed a Big Lie (source)

Biden announced the U.S. is donating an additional 500 million Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines to low- and lower-middle income countries around the world

President Biden smoothed things over with French President Emmanuel Macron (re; the Australian submarine deal), and the French ambassador to the U.S. will return

Axios reports that Republican Super PACs are focusing negative ads not on their Democratic opponents, but on fellow Republican candidates

The January 6th Committee subpoenaed 4 Trump aides including former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Steve Bannon

The ACLU filed a lawsuit to challenge Ohio’s new redistricting maps, arguing they are an illegal gerrymander

Have a good weekend!!

  1. I can’t thank you enough for doing this. Four years of Trump and cronies, indeed, cured me from reading or watching any news, since Biden got in office. I welcome this body and soul healing information. I don’t do any social media either for the same reason
