The Week’s Best Cartoons 8/28

By David Fitzsimmons, The Arizona Daily Star

I have enjoyed editorial cartoons since I was in school and now love putting together this roundup of my favorite cartoons from the past week. The best editorial cartoons make us think, hold those in power accountable, and provoke a strong emotion inside of us. It never fails to impress me how much these cartoonists can move me with a single image.

  1. These folks tell the story far better than the news reporters.

  2. Tokyo, thanks. Your first cartoon are words that doctors say they are hearing from unvaccinated COVID patients. Sadly, two big naysayers of vaccines just died from COVID, a conservative radio host and a Texas state congressman. They naysayed up to days before the end. I am sad when people die because of poor decisions, but I am not surprised either. I feel like we need the prescient Christopher Walkien character from the movie “The Dead Zone” to tell people the “ice is going to break” to get them not to skate on the frozen pond. So, get a vaccine. Keith

  3. Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
