Protecting our democracy is one of the top priorities of Political Charge readers this year. One of the ways we can tackle that is by being engaged around elections year-round.
Turnout drops by A LOT in what is called “off-cycle” elections, unless there is a monumental effort like in the Georgia runoff elections. And historically, Democratic turnout falls quite a bit more than Republican turnout. At a time when Republicans everywhere are embracing the most radical beliefs and voter suppression tactics, I believe we can’t afford to not fight hard for every position in government.
When I publish these monthly calendars, I encourage you to take at least one action to help build awareness of these elections. I have a few suggestions as to how to do this below. Thank you for taking action!
