Election 2020: Crucial Info Before the Weekend

39 days until Election Day. More states have begun early voting (Illinois and Michigan started yesterday.) 6 weekends left to take action and get as many people voting as possible. The finish line is so close!

To kick off the weekend, here are four tidbits I want to share:

Careful on Social Media

Now with Election Day bearing down on us, the time is ripe for vast amounts of misinformation and disinformation to be shared on social media. And unfortunately for the country, we have a president who keeps dishing out bad information, on purpose. Be sure you don’t fall into the trap of sharing erroneous info. Vox just published a great article breaking the conspiracies that are floating around about voter fraud, which you can read HERE. Also, courtesy of Rogan’s List, take this quiz to see if you can spot a social media troll.

Naked Ballots in Pennsylvania

If you are a voter in Pennsylvania or you know any voters in the state, please share this crucial information about naked ballots. Namely, to vote by mail, you must place your ballot in the provided secrecy envelope which goes into the larger mailing envelope that you must sign. If voters fail to use the secrecy envelope, their ballot will not be counted. You can read more about the recent court decision about this issue HERE. Early voting has already started in Pennsylvania, so do be sure to share this information broadly!

Get Trained on Text Banking

If you want to help make sure that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get to the White House, consider signing up for one of their upcoming trainings to learn how to text bank for them. It’s a great way to do voter outreach from the safety of your home. Check out the available training dates HERE. I’m attending the one happening tomorrow morning, but the dates run through October.

Lindsey Graham Begs for Money

I guess this isn’t technically crucial information going into the election, but with the news being so awful all the time, I figured you might enjoy hearing about this. In the past week, Graham has gone onto no less than three Fox News programs to beg their viewers for money. He’s clearly very, very worried about how much Jaime Harrison is raising. You can see the clip of Graham begging HERE.

Speaking of the Senate

If you want to help flip the Senate and drive more voter turnout in key swing states, then consider writing letters to voters with The Big Send. They have a goal of sending 10 million letters and so far, have written 8.27 million! Each letter takes about 3 minutes to complete, and you can sign up for as many (or as few) letters as you want. You can learn more about the project and sign up HERE.

Thank you for taking action!

  1. TokyoSand, thanks for the update. Since I live close to the South Carolina border, I see ads being run by Linsey Graham’s opponet, Jaime Harrison. He is a very capable, experienced and honorable man running very good campaign commercials. I actually don’t mind hearing him.

Graham is being tested because he is bitter shell of what he used to be. I did not agree with his politics often, but when John McCain was alive, Graham sided with McCain. Now, he is the worst of sycophants for the corrupt and deceitful president. He has earned the right for people to be disappointed in his performance.

Outside of Trump, I would love to see Graham and Thom Tillis, in my state lose. McConnell would be the next choice, but he appears like he may survive, unless more Kentuckyians vote. As for Tillis, he did a couple of inappropriate (one arguably unethical) things when he was the NC Speaker of the House and continues to be less than pristine as a Senator, as well as sycophant. • Tillis definitely looks like he’s in danger. I’d love to see Graham go down, but we’d need to see massive turnout. Which is a great goal to work towards.
