Political⚡Charge Hits 500. What’s Next?

blue 500

I can’t quite believe it, but this is my 500th post.

I got into this because I believe our democracy gets stronger when more people are actively engaging and shaping the political process. I am inspired by YOUR desire to affect change. But I also know that you all are busy and don’t always have the time to research and collect resources that are truly effective.

So that’s what I’ve been doing, and I wanted to take a moment to tell you what to expect in the next 500 posts.

But first, a quick thank you to all my current readers and subscribers. I really do appreciate that you share these posts and help others get their hands on good information.

Comments like this one, which just came in yesterday, also make it all worth it:

Thank you for everything you do – this blog seems very fair and well considered, and I really appreciate the lack of hyperbole and hype.

Ok, let’s look forward. It comes down to this: The last 3 years have been so corrosive for our democracy we just cannot, CANNOT, allow the Republicans to remain in control of our government–and I mean at both the federal and state level. Here’s what I’m going to keep writing about:

We need to win elections so you can expect more articles like:

Here are the GOP Senate Seats to Flip in 2020
15 Ways You Can Help Get More People Registered to Vote
2019 Elections: The State Legislatures

It’s critical we use effective messaging:

Are you unintentionally helping Trump?
How the Right Words Can Defuse Republican Attacks

I’ll keep you informed about issues around voting rights:

A Big Win for the Census: What Comes Next
25 States That Have Restricted Voting Rights Recently

From time to time, I’ll focus in on a topic and write a series of posts to dig in. In the past, I’ve delved into turnout, produced midterm primary guides for each state, and wrote issue guides for the 2020 candidates. Today, I’m announcing a new series: The Swing State Series. These posts will look at the key states that we’ll need to win the Electoral College and that are crucial for getting fair maps in the next redistricting cycle.

Now here’s something I’d like to ask you to do:

Please share this post (or one of your favorites) with your friends and network, and encourage them to subscribe. I’m sure you know others who are eager to turn our country around but are busy and don’t have the time to research what kinds of actions are the most effective. Let them know why you like Political⚡Charge and encourage them to subscribe to get all this great content.

Thank you so much! Onto the next 500!

  3. I share your posts frequently and have encouraged others to subscribe and share as well. Not sure it was because of me, but a local SD Progressive Blogger has begun to share your posts as well. Read you every day and looking forward to the next 500 and more.
