A year from now, when you look back at 2019, what do you want to see? New Year’s Day isn’t the only time of year you can chart a course, but it’s as good a day as any.
Every day in 2019 we will be confronted with a million different issues that need to be fixed in our country. Trump still has the White House and will continue to hire worse and worse people to fill vacancies, and the Republicans have the Senate. The avalanche of bad news will not end. But, we can control what we focus on and where we leave our mark.
We can either help a little bit on a lot of issues, or we can help a lot on one or two issues. Today, I encourage you to think about those issues that matter the most to you. We each only have a finite amount of energy and resources. How do you want to spend them?
In the words of John F. Kennedy:
Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.
So, as you think about the months ahead, ask yourself:
Where do I want to spend my energy so I can really make a difference?
If you find your answer and want to share it in the comments, I’d love to hear about it!
