It’s hard to believe it but yes, the midterm elections are finally upon us.
Most importantly, we’re about to be hit with an avalanche of voter registration deadlines. While a few lucky states allow their citizens to register to vote on Election Day, most don’t. And let’s face it. Getting it done early takes a load off your mind, don’t you think?
With that, let’s take a look at all the states with voter registration deadlines this week. (At the end of the post, I have a link to where you can get state specific info.)
October 8 – Monday
October 9 – Tuesday
October 10 – Wednesday
October 12 – Friday
October 13 – Saturday
Now for each of the states above, you’ll want to check if it’s a single deadline (i.e. one deadline for registering to vote in person, by mail, or online) or if they have different deadlines for each of those methods for registering. I know, it can be complicated, but I’m here to make it easy.
If you see your state listed above, I want you to go directly to your state’s Election website, helpfully listed here by the good folks at BlueWave Crowdsource, and follow their instructions to register.
I’ve also been hearing WAY too many stories this weekend about friends checking their registration and finding out they’ve been inactivated, so please, just take 2 minutes to double-check that your status is active. You’ll feel so much better when you know for sure.
As always, I encourage you to share this information in your social media circles. Some folks tune out politics and won’t realize these deadlines are upon them.
