1 Thing You Have To Do Before You Vote Next Month

VoterRegistration

This will be short but sweet. Right now, yes today, you need to check your voter registration. Wait wait wait — keep reading.

If you’re like, “Please, I’ve been a registered voter since I was 18.”

Or, “Please, I just registered to vote last year.” You still need to check. Here’s why.

There have been way too many reports during primary season of people showing up to vote and finding out that their names are not on the voter rolls. Take this example in Los Angeles where over 118,000 voters found themselves left off the rolls earlier this year.

There are also multiple states that have an active policy of purging voters off their rolls. How can you be sure you haven’t been kicked off by accident recently?

You can’t unless you check.

So, right now, check your voter registration. It’ll take 3 minutes. You can go to your state’s Secretary of State website or you can go to I Will Vote which syncs up with those websites.

Yes, right now. I’ll wait.

Great. Now don’t you feel better? And, if something’s wrong, you have time to fix it.

Do tell your friends and family to check their registration status, too.
